Define the state
The player receives three cards and the dealer places two community cards face down. Three equal base wagers begin in action.
Use the player’s three cards plus both community cards to form a five-card pay-table hand.
Apply the decision
Before each community reveal, keep the corresponding wager in action or take it back. The final wager normally remains.
Decisions depend on made hands and qualifying draws, not on beating a dealer. Strategy must match the lowest paying hand and complete schedule.
Settle every unit
Taking back the first optional wager leaves the remaining wagers alive; it does not fold the hand.
All wagers left in action receive the final hand’s posted result. Returned wagers are no longer exposed and do not share later wins.
Audit the result
Each take-back decision compares zero future value for the withdrawn unit with the conditional expected payoff of leaving it in action.
For Let It Ride Worked Examples, list the initial wager, every later wager, returned stakes, net winnings, losses, and the denominator before converting the result to a percentage.
A round worth auditing
For Let It Ride Worked Examples, the player is withdrawing optional wagers, not adding raises. Strategy must compare the value of leaving each unit in action at that street.
For Let It Ride Worked Examples, track stake, later action, returned stake and net result line by line. This catches most denominator and settlement mistakes.
Use Let It Ride Worked Examples to reconcile every chip from placement through settlement. If the accounting does not balance, the percentage built on it will not either.
