Roulette Betting Systems

Understand why Martingale, Fibonacci, Labouchere, d’Alembert, and sector systems change risk rather than expectation.

Bottom line: A staking pattern cannot change the expected value of an independent negative-expectation spin. It can only redistribute wins, losses, and the chance of reaching a limit.

Martingale

Martingale doubles after a loss and resets after a win. It creates many small winning sequences and occasional losses large enough to erase many prior gains.

Finite bankrolls and table maximums prevent unlimited continuation. Every dollar placed still faces the wheel’s edge.

Other progressions

Fibonacci and d’Alembert increase bets more slowly. Labouchere uses a cancellation list. Positive progressions increase after wins instead.

Different paths change variance and maximum exposure, but linearity of expectation means the expected loss remains edge multiplied by total action.

Wheel and sector systems

Neighbor bets and racetrack sectors cover physical wheel regions. On a fair wheel, they do not become favorable because nearby numbers appeared recently.

Detecting a physical bias would require controlled data, stable equipment conditions, and statistical evidence far beyond visual streaks.

Stopping rules

Win goals and stop-losses determine when future wagers cease. They can cap a session’s planned exposure but cannot retroactively improve the value of completed spins.

Repeated sessions reset the narrative, not the underlying expectation.

Practical checklist

  • Calculate maximum progression size
  • Include every wager in total action
  • Respect table limits
  • Do not confuse win frequency with profitability
  • Treat observed sectors as data questions, not patterns
