Local and linked meters
Standalone progressives grow from one machine. Local-area and wide-area progressives can pool contributions across banks, properties, or networks.
A larger network usually produces faster meter movement and more competing eligible play.
Reset and contribution
After a win, the jackpot returns to a reset amount. A portion of qualifying wagers increases the displayed meter.
The contribution rate is not automatically equal to the added player return if multiple meters, reserve pools, or fees are involved.
Eligibility
Maximum bet, active paylines, denomination, side wager, or a specific symbol combination may be required. The rules screen controls.
A nonqualifying spin receives none of the meter’s value.
Break-even analysis
A theoretical threshold requires the jackpot probability, base return excluding the progressive increment, current meter, and sometimes strategy or bet-level effects.
Unknown probability or configuration prevents a defensible exact threshold.
