Banker
Banker wins slightly more often because the drawing table acts after Player’s result is known. With the standard five-percent commission, the published eight-deck house edge is about 1.058%.
Commission is part of the price, not evidence that the wager is unfairly settled. A no-commission table replaces it with another rule that needs its own calculation.
Player
Player pays even money and carries an edge of about 1.235% in the standard eight-deck game. It is simpler to settle but modestly more expensive than standard Banker.
The word Player does not mean you are betting on yourself. There are no hand decisions after choosing the wager.
Tie
A Tie wager at 8:1 has an edge of about 14.36% under the standard model. At 9:1 the edge falls substantially, but it still remains much higher than the two main wagers.
Banker and Player wagers push when a tie occurs. Betting both main sides does not create a free hedge because commission and push treatment leave no positive expectation.
Comparing actual tables
Check commission collection, reduced payouts on selected Banker totals, the number of decks, and any mandatory side wager. A headline such as no commission is not enough.
Expected loss equals total action multiplied by the edge of the specific wager. Pace and time can matter more to total cost than the small difference between Banker and Player.
